Returning a little over a year after their debut album ‘Nothing Beyond Everything After’, Pariso have somehow warped the space-time continuum and produced ‘Consanguinity’ - a record that shows an evolution far greater than (approximately) 365 days should allow.

Loosely based on the theme of family and relations, ‘Consanguinity’ displays highs of atmosphere, melody and thought amidst Pariso's trademark ferocity and aggression. Produced by Lewis Johns at The Ranch and rife with the flair of new-ish guitarist Alex Heffernan, this album should leave no doubts in the mind of any discerning, forward-thinking heavy music fan.

Consanguinity is available now on 12" vinyl (with an exclusive vinyl-only bonus track) and as a free download. No pre-order, no build up, no hype.

1.
The love is gone, but the commitment lives on. The separation has been numbed. It just shows how hard you were shook, when I remember the drive we took (and the tears rolled down your face). I sometimes wonder if things stayed the same, would I still be the person I am today? I hope I steered the boat through troubled waters. The glue that set in is peeling off your skin. The separation has been numbed. The separation, cut off the blood. The separation that kept you warm.

Maniai 02:05
You floated above me like the angel of death, entombed, unresponsive. What was going through your head? We found you in the dark, in a field of isolation. You were ready to end us then, a blunt rock to the head. So dead behind those eyes, no conscience yet so alive, you were dead to the world, should be dead to the world. Through the darkest light and searing hell. Uncompromising. Love, endure, recover. Let me lay you on these white sheets. Still cold from the chaos you endured. We need to know that this is your choice you made. Dead to the world.
3.
Pigs 02:43
When I was given my fathers tongue, young of mind and young of heart, so naïve of the patriots who sang. I learnt that history had many hopeless roads, a thousand years of siege, a cultural disease. I can't see what's in front of me. I'll spit on the life you keep. We are bound by blood alone. Your closed mind means nothing to me. That smoke that we both know seeps through desperation, it makes me gasp, a need for respiration. I'll coat myself in oil so I'll stick to your throat. Choke on the words, choke on the words that you wrote. I can't see what's in front of me. I'll spit on the life you keep. Blood is rising to my head, trying to gain, gain some sense. You lack a forgiving hand as you bury your head in the sand. Don't sell me venom and call it tradition. A girl who sees no lines loves the place you left behind. You have the nerve to say 'go home' when you have no love for your own.
4.
Methuselah 02:00
You're the chest in my mind, hidden away from me but I don't want to open it, to see what's inside. Seeing a darkness I've never seen before. I see the smoke bellow from your doors. My family hid the key, locked away so you wouldn't find me. Our wood is of the same grain, but yours has rotted away. Not knowing of what I see, blood seeps from your hinges. It almost makes me question the journey that got you here. Your wooden arms have intertwined with the floor. My family hid the key, locked away so you wouldn't find me. Our wood is of the same grain, but yours has rotted away. What secrets do you hold inside? Inside you're dark and hollow. My breath turns to steam. Your reasons are hard to swallow. The older I grew, the smaller you seemed. Selfish and callous.
5.
High above those clouds I can barely reach, past the point where the sky becomes space. At this point I had barely existed. Their purpose, to show me the light and the dark. My eyes grew weary and my mind grew stronger. I can finally see the cracks breaking the skin. When they soon become human their duty became more of a burden. I wonder if their choices made me a better person? No matter how much I grew in distance from them I knew I would become them myself. I will no doubt make the same mistakes.
6.
Equivocation 02:36
If you learnt to speak, your skin would be less fragile. If you learnt their pain, you would still be with your child. The mind, the heart, the river that splits them apart was meant for them to be divided. You built a bridge made of secret desires. Why would you sacrifice the shadow of yourself you made that I learnt to live under? I know emotions are not linked to intellect but surely we sometimes have to rationalize between beyond our own immediate desires? I took her in like she was my own, because you forgot how much she's grown. The mind, the heart, the river that splits them apart was meant for them to be divided. You built a bridge made of your secret desires. Betrayal

Montserrat 02:00
A flower grew in the place of abandon. It feels like I missed you growing up, I saw you with wider eyes. I know those early years were rough but your compassion never dies. It's clear to me you're fully grown, now that you can fight for on your own. Poison ivy, prickled leaves. More than I could ever achieve. It feels like I missed you growing up, I saw you with wider eyes. I know those early years were rough but your compassion never dies. Your roots made the soil rise and curl, so naïve that you're a woman, not a girl. The sun shines through your skin, the whisper in the woods, so feminine.

Trolljegeren 02:18
When you were younger, you sought for a ribbon. Because we're all told, it gives us hope. Pink and delicate, bound by love. You were young, impressionable, and had it all to lose. The years went by, your ribbon gains time. It became old and tattered, a fateful crime. Let me be the one to explain, that your ribbon was not in vain. You made sacrifices for us, to give me the world you were never blessed. The water, so stagnant, trying to make ripples in our future. Their bond of love may have withered but their bond for us will never die. Our fathers that passed, our mothers we blessed. How quick I was to judge, how sick I was to love. Sometimes those words are the hardest to say. I hope I am a testament to the choices you made. But the wheels keep turning, failure, we are learning. We all carry our sins, a heavy burden it is. The price in life you pay, never let my heart stray. How can I cast a stone, when you suffer alone?
9.
He's a coward, drowning in what he's created. Taking nothing for as sacred, burn those bridges for your own health. I know the world can be cold, you tend to suffer on your own. You need to know I'll mend your broken heart and bones. I'm a hypocrite, but I'm learning to live with it. "And I apologize for the warmth you feel inside, it was manipulated for my own desire. When you close your eyes, do you see me? Because when I do, I don't see you." The dead man comes for you.
